The Mercedes Benz C63 AMG is a 2008 model that had the first engine built entirely by the AMG performance group. Most of the problems that come with this car have to do with the new M156 engine. Many of the problems are also related to each other, so if you are having a problem with one, you might need to get the rest of the car components checked.

M156 HEAD BOLT FAILURE
You might notice a clicking noise when you start your engine. Your engine could start to fail soon after you hear this clicking noise as it means the head bolt has become exposed and has started to corrode. As the head bolt corrodes, coolant starts to mix with the engine oil. If you do not take the car to the mechanic soon after this issue arises, the bolt could even snap off and cause the head gasket to blow which will follow by some costly mechanic fees.
CAMSHAFTS AND LIFTERS
On this car model, the camshafts, lifters, and bearings are also said to wear out much sooner than they should. There was a class-action suit that was filed that said the camshafts were not heat treated properly which causes them to wear out. This can also cause a clicking noise when you start the engine. The cam and lifter were not made well lubricated which can cause the clicking as metal pieces are directly hitting other metal pieces.
UNPLEASANT INTERIOR ODORS
If you are a driver of a Mercedes Benz C63 AMG, you might consistently notice an unpleasant cabin odor. This can be caused by the leather or trim interiors. You might need to clean the interior of the car more often than you do with other cars you have owned. Moisture also tends to collect in the air conditioning evaporator. This can cause the overgrowth of bacteria and mildew. Many drivers recommend using Lysol or air fresheners in the car to lessen the odor.
OIL LEAKS
Oil leaks are a common problem. The most common reason is that the oil pan gasket is worn out or incorrectly fastened. This causes oil to leak through. Oil changes can be expensive, so you want to make sure your car is not actively leaking oil. If you see oil spots on the driveway or other places you park, you should take the car into the shop right away.
INTAKE MANIFOLD FAILURE
An intake manifold failure is an annoying issue. This is also caused by the bolts that can easily corrode. This increases pressure in the manifold and then can blow the weakened bolt apart. If this is the problem with your car, you will notice poor engine performance and excessive white smoke from the exhaust. You might also see coolant in the oil pan or a visible coolant leak. Like many of the other problems with the AMG C 63 S, this causes problems with the engine.
