ENGINE PROBLEMS
When driving your car, the last thing you want is engine problems. A common complaint with the Mercedes Benz GLC Class is that there are valve spring failures that cause the engine to stall out. If you notice your engine stalling or weird noises when the car is started, this could be a sign that there are engine problems that need to be fixed. In more serious cases, the engine can combust or misfire. If you notice the car shaking continuously and vigorously, you should stop driving and get a mechanic to come to look at the car right away.
FUEL SYSTEM PROBLEMS
Many complaints are centered around the fuel and propulsion system. There are also many issues and complaints about the fuel line. In a serious case, gasoline was just pouring out from the hood which can be a serious fire hazard. Fuel line brackets can also be installed improperly which can affect the entire fuel system. If you think there is a problem with the fuel system, make sure all high-pressure fuel lines are checked and replaced as needed.
STRUCTURAL PROBLEMS
The Mercedes Benz GLC also has some structural problems that need to be talked about. Many cars were recalled because there was no protection installed on the front radiator. This problem has occurred in both the 2019 and the 2021 models. When there is no protection across the front of the radiator, it can ship easily when you are driving when rocks or other sharp objects come towards the car. Some people also say there is excessive rust on the frame of the vehicle. Cars should not be excessively rusting especially when they are only a few years old. Always talk to the manufacturer when you see any structural problems and pay attention to any recalls.
FAULTY TIRES
Faulty tires make it difficult to drive and in some cases can be extremely serious. Tire valves are the main cause of faulty tires in this car model. When they begin to weather and crack too soon, the valve caps can come off and the tires can quickly become underinflated. Filling your tires with air all the time will not be a permanent solution. You will need to make sure the valves are fixed and replaced as needed.
DEFECTIVE POWERTRAIN
Having a defective powertrain can cause a wide variety of problems in the car including overheating, unusual handling, shaking and vibrating, whining, and growling noises. If your car is very loud, the issue is usually more serious. As soon you start hearing any unusual noises in your GLC, make sure to take it to the repair shop right away so they can investigate the powertrain. Problems with the powertrain can also cause fuel and oil consumption issues.
